Thanks for your patience with this post. This is the second half of The House on High Street Home Renovation Tour. We continue with the second and third floor. (If you missed it, click here for Home Reno ~ Before & After, Part I.)

Let’s get right to it.

Wouldn’t this make a beautiful staircase for a bride!?

2nd Floor Center Hallway

Before:

The space between the window in this hallway and the bedroom doors would later be framed out for a Master Closet.

Directly behind the first story landing was an entrance to the 2nd floor of the "ugly addition". So, there was no window in the landing. This would later be demolished so a sunroom and walk-out could be built in its place.

Now, there is a walk-out deck behind this wall (on the right); which is why we installed a window on the left. This really brightens the center hallway!

This photo shows the 4th bedroom and former bathroom, from the 3rd bedroom. The wall was taken down. Later, the bathroom would be widened a bit and the sitting area with sliding doors would be put in (on the right side).

Well, there you have it. An entire home renovation project in pictures. (Well, there are about 50 “During” pictures I could have included, for each room, as well!)

It’s important to remember (as we are often complimented on having such a “nice home”); NOTHING comes easily. Yes, The House on High Street is beautiful. But, there was a lot of hard work, time, and effort put into this dream. Now, it is a reality. Which means Scott and I now have a large home to clean, maintain, host family and friends, landscape, etc.

Is it worth it? YES

Could we give it up? YES (Shocker to some, I’m sure.)

The best part of this project was having the faith to participate in something extraordinary. God’s word tells us that we can do ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST, WHO STRENGTHENS US. (Philippians 4:13)

So, whatever you are dreaming right now, pray about it. Have faith. And, go for it. You can do ALL things THROUGH CHRIST, who strengthens YOU.

In the meantime, Scott and I look forward to sharing our outdoor projects at The House on High Street this spring. There is still a lot to do, and a lot to share with you. Stay tuned…

EXTRA Ordinarily Yours
